It’s hard to get very excited for a Michael Bay movie trailer. Yes, there will undoubtedly be a slow-motion explosion at some point in the Friday the 13th remake (even if Bay just produced it). Still, this new trailer could possibly look worse, and that’s sort of a silver lining, right?
Actually, not really. Jason now moves fast? Really? This is the direction they decided to go? Supposedly along with this clip from Comic-Con came the news that Jason will be smarter and more clever with setting traps. So, instead of making Michael Myers Vs. Jason, they just decided to combine the two characters, with a little of Freddy thrown in for good measure? Can’t wait. They should have just made this instead.

Professor Hobo

Having been a teacher for a number of years, it is always amazing the variety of excuses that students will come up with to defend cheating. This is not based on an actual instance–those would be far too bizarre even for a bizarre comic strip. However, it cuts to the core defense many like to fall back on now–something vaguely legal/technical they’ve read in passing while on the Internet. These are always the best defenses in life.

Where is the gay video game star? Sure, there have been minor dalliances here and there, but where is the certifiable gay gaming star? It may not seem like a big issue, and perhaps in the grand scheme of things it is not. However, as other minority groups begin to pop up as game stars more often, it does seem that homosexuals are one group left out in the cold, so to speak.
So, where are they? Where is the Lara Croft for gay gamers? There have been characters that were “wink wink” gay, but how many have actually been outed within the game? Of course, no one is asking for it to be the primary focus of a character, but the heterosexuality of characters is often made quite clear.
This isn’t a debate, but an honest question out to the gaming community. Post below with your answers, or even thoughts on the subject. We’d love to do a follow-up profiling a particular game.

It seems difficult to imagine someone improving on the lovingly crafted Resident Evil films. After all, they take the continuity and character development of the games so seriously. However, it looks like Capcom might have pulled off the impossible–a good Resident Evil movie!
From bringing back the voice actors of the game to making the film actually feel like a game, this just feels like Resident Evil. Sure, parts of it look a little like Resident Evil meets 24 (and probably also Scooby Doo), but that’s half the fun. At least it looks like an earnest attempt to make a real zombie, horror film. No calls of racism on it yet.
